Epiphone/Gibson Sheraton Elitist
This is a one-of-a-kind 2004 Epiphone Sheraton Elitist. Unlike the production models that were manufactured in Korea, the Sheraton Elitist Limited Issues were crafted in the famed Terada factory in Japan by the most experienced luthiers using the very finest materials available anywhere. The fit and finish are flawless.
The maple top and back exhibit the most outrageous bearclaw birdseye figure I have seen anywhere. It was then shipped to the Gibson custom shop in Nashville to have the finest available Gibson hardware and electronics installed before being showcased at the 2004 NAMM show in Los Angeles.
Many years ago I acquired an original gold-plated NOS 1965 Epiphone Tremetone vibrato tailpiece knowing it was made only for the Epiphone Sheraton guitars that were being manufactured in very small quantities by Gibson at that time. I also used an original NOS Gibson “Custom Made” plate to cover the stop tailpiece holes as was common practice on Gibson thin-lines and Epiphone Sheratons in the sixties. The original stop tailpiece is included.
It has a extremely comfortable neck with a 24 ¾” scale and a 1 11/16” nut. Plays like butter with a huge range of tones. Includes the original hardshell case.
Collectors of vintage guitars snap up the authentic Elitist Sheratons, which rarely appear for sale. Even more rare are the natural finish models that were only produced in 2004.
