John Buscarino 2019 Buscarino Artisan
|Model:||2019 Buscarino Artisan|
Master luthier John Buscarino had one piece of figured Honduras mahogany left and wanted to do something a bit different. He had used the mahogany for his flat tops and classicals, but this time he wanted to experiment and try it on an archtop. He was pleasantly surprised by the end result that is the incredible 16” guitar you see here. The spruce top is over 100 years old and he used figured Macassar ebony for all of the appointments including the headstock face plate, fingerboard, pickguard and tailpiece. It’s also unique in that the sides are graduated from 3” in the upper body to 3 ½” at the lower body. There are three thumbwheel pots mounted beneath the pickguard including a bass roll-off adjustment.
You can see and hear this very instrument by watching the video recorded upon completion of the build in 2019 featuring Luis Diaz. Judge for yourself. It just doesn’t get any better than this. Click on the video link below.
